Line, soldier was born in 1762 at Phila.,PA and he lived at Rowan Co., NC. at enlistment and in 1841 he moved to Shelby Co., KY and in 1823 he moved to Perry Co., MO. and he applied there 29 Nov.1833 Grove, John, wf. margaret ann, W1756, PA line, soldier applied in jefferson co., ky. soldier was born 22 july 1750 about 7 miles from phila. and he lived there at enlistment and after the rev. he moved to nc.then to ky and he lived in jefferson co., and shelby co., ky. soldier married 17 aug 1819 to margaret ann newkirk in jefferson co., ky. soldier died 11 dec 1843 in monroe co., mo.,where he lived only a few months witha son martin grove.widow applied 29 june, 1853 jefferson co., ky. age 88 and was living with a dau. mary newkirk. soldier's dau. mary speer or spear was of shleby co., ky in 1835, the son martin was age 60 in 1853, a resident of monroe co., mo. soldier 1/2 bro. PHILIP HINKLE srv in the rev. war, the following were mentioned, but no relationship stated, towit; jesse hinkle, jacob grove, both srv in the rev.war and in 1835 a charles hinkle, sr. and charles hinkle, jr., where of shelby co., ky. and 1836 a w.i. grove were mentoned, mrs. anton hinkle married after his death, a grove and they are buried along with anton at st. michael's ch. germantown, pa. and that's from the minister's mouth. bucks co. history (note alot, a very lot is wrong with this history) casper hinckle, the pioneer ancestor was born in germany, settled near germantown. philip hinkle, born in "germany" (not so) moved from chresam, alias germantown to plumstead, bucks co.
