Mark, The spellings of Hinkle could be anything but there just aren't many Michael Hinkle's by any of them. When STUMPED it only means we haven't looked in the right places yet. How sure are you of your Michael Hinkle's place of death? I wonder if your Michael Hinkle born ca. 1760 may be the same person as: JOHAN-MICHAEL HINKEL of Northampton Co, PA. born 2 Aug 1763 and died 27 MAR 1835, Buried Dryland Church Yard, Hecktown, Lower Nazareth Twp, 8 miles west of Easton, Northampton Co, PA.(see the inset of a modern atlas for location above Bethlehem, PA) I believe Johan Michael to have been the Revolutionary War Soldier: Northampton County Pennsylvania HENKEL, Michael 1782-Pvt. 6 cyl. 4 Batt. (s5, v8, 331 (Source: 'Soldiers of the American Revolution, Richard T. & Mildred C. Williams, 1979.) There are records of birth of children for Michael Hinkel of Northampton Co, PA some of which may not have survived by the 1800 Mannheim Twp, Berks Co, PA Census: 1. Anna Barbara 4 Mar 1786, mother Helena 2. Magdalena b 3 May 1792 mother Maria Magdalena 3. Elisabeth b 29 Dec 1792 mother Magdalena Catharina 4. Elisabetha c 1795 (may be the same child as 3.Elisabeth) mother Catharina (Michael's wife was probably Maria Magdalena Catharina -?- ) The Mannheim Twp, Berks Co, PA census gave two sons and a daughter for Michael of Berks Co, PA. One of them was Abraham b 1798. Your William 1795 could fit into the above. I am very interested in your thoughts on this. Mildred Clark Notify Administrator about this message?
