casper johnson name changed from janson, married 1st about 1741 to catharine _. she was a legatee in the will of john morse, schoolmaster of phila. date june 22, 1766, but no relationship is mentioned. he married 2d to mary _. his children were probably all by his first wife who is shown by john morse's will to have been living in 1766.

mary johnson, (casper 1,) d/o casper and catharine johnson, born abt 1743, died 1827. she married in 1759 to philip hinkle, brother of charles hinkle, who married her sister, elisabeth. philip hinkle was born at germantown, pa in 1740, died may 15, 1814. he was the son of anthony hinkle, who for many years kept an inn on the germantown road in the dist. known as cresham. philip moved to plumstead twp. bucks co. in 1766. he was a soldier of the rev. becoming a member of the associated co. of plumstead township, aug 21, 1775,and later serving in the regular line under col. john beatty, col. arthur erwin and col. robert robinson.
elisabeth johnson, d/o casper and catharine, born in dublin twp, montgomery co married charles hinkle. he was the son of anthony and anna margaret hinkle of germantown and grandson of anthony jacob henkel, the 1st minster of the lutheran ch. in pa. charles and elisabeth lived and died around germantown.
