According to my family records Peter Hinkle was the son of Jacob Anthony Henkel and was born in 1735. His wife's name was Elizabth. Their children were John;David;Henry(b. May 10 1778; Elizabeth;Conrad;Catherine;Margaret;Ann. He resided in a stone house opposite Mermaid Lane on Germantown Ave. Chestnut Hill Phil. He died 1802, buried Lutheran Church Cemetery Germantown Pa. His will was probated 1802 Book Y No. 42 p.512 His wife Elizabeth (b. July 11, 1734 d.Sept. 12 1806)
My ancestor David Hinkle, sone of Peter and Elizabeth was born at Chestnur Hill Nov. 13 1768 and was married to Rebecca Hallowell.
Question: I need clarification about Peter Hinkle's parents. There are 2 Peters listed in my family information who are sons of Jacob Anthony and Ann Margaretha. I know that one Peter went to NC but this Peter has marked beside his name -Chestnut Hill. I am very confused.
How do you get access to the books recording the probating of the wills?
