Tried your E-Mail address but it bounced back. so I have made another posting here.

Sorry I have no information on HYING. The English ING's were originally
Saxon (arriving in Britain about 650 AD and therefore should decend from the
same route as your wife. ING means clan or people. My family remained simply
ING's until the 1850's when adding an 'H' was considered more 'up market'
but I would guess your wife's family became 'Hy' ING's early on like many
others whos names end in ING.
