Hi again - I was able to - very gingerly - extract these photos from their sleeves. This brough to light the fact that most of these photos were taken in California & Missouri. One is also dated: 1882
I punched the names & locations into familysearch & have come to the conclusion that this album is of the family of John Henry Hines (born about 1835) & Susanna Livengood Hines (born about 1848).
Census records list their children as:
Paulina C (b 1864)
Mary M. (b 1867)
Ollie T. (b 1871)
Alfred T. (b 1873)
Fannie E. (b 1875)
John H. (b 1877)
Thomas P. (b 1880)
William (b 1883)
Charles (b 1886)
I HAVE PHOTOS OF: John Henry, Susanna Livengood, Ollie, Alfred, John H., William, & Charles, ~ at least. There are several photos unidentified. Some of the unidentifieds resemble people in the labeled photos - but I can't be sure they're the same people. Also, one is of a small child with painted-on eyes.... this might be a post-mortem.
There are also photos of George McGovern (husband to Ollie), T.P. Linton (in military dress), Bert Linton (baby - propped up with towels & magazines/newspaper - another possible post-mortem), & Walt Linton. Also have a photo labeled Fannie Hine Fleming.
I know how much it would mean to me if someone could show me 130 yr old family photos... so I would love to be able to share these photos with this family.
If you are kin to these people, you can contact me with an email address to reply to. If you're not kin - please feel free to pass along this information in any forums that might help find them.
Thanks!
~ Laura
