Hi, Bill:Thanks for getting back.To continue the story:Mary Lyon Hindman, who was born 12.6.1823 in Post Oak Springs, TN, and died about 1906, on 1.6.1846, in Ripley, MS, married James Baxter Ellis, MD, born 9.11.1817, in Clarksville, Montgomery Co., TN, and died in 1878.They had seven children, one of whom was my great-grandfather:Everett Edward Ellis, MD, born 5.22.1851, in Ripley, Booneville, MS, married (1) Clifford Claire Porter, and after the birth of her daughter Zena Grey in 1891, she died at age 24, in 1894.His second marriage was to Caroline Augusta Flournoy, my great-grandmother.Everett (who had a son, a grandson, and a great-great grandson named Everett) was the youngest of his generation, and was born on his parents' plantation in northern Mississippi. He and his brother George both graduated from "Ole Miss" in Oxford, and took their medical degrees at Tulane. He practiced in Dyersburg, TN, where my grandfather was born. There's probably enough to write a book, so let me know if you need specific information.Sara
