Hi Erin, if you check all of the counties that came out of Augusta and Frederick CO VA will will see a majority of them are Quaker desc.s.
I have found many of these Quaker & German desc.s in the 1782 Hampshire CO VA tax list and the 1782 Berekely CO VA tax list. The Quakers come from the Quaker 1730s VA land buyers Morgan Bryan( he as a BOONE connection-grd-dau Rebecca marr. Daniel BOONE , Alexander Ross , Robert McKay aka McCoy , Jacob Stover marr. Sarah BOONE sister of Squire,
Yost HITE- German settlers and the Van Meters from NJ- he and Robert McKay VA land partners and Benjamin Borden from NJ.All these men held almost 400,000 acres in the 1730s.
Quakers from NJ, Chester CO PA and New Castle CO DE flooded into the Frederick and Augusta CO VA area 1730s and later. I found many of these people on the 1782 Montgomery CO VA tax list.
FYI- 4 1780s KY Forts have Quaker connections- Fort Boonesborough, Fort Strode, Fort Ruddle and Bryan's station.
David
