Mary Caroline Hindman was one of three sets of twins born to James Hindman and Margaret Surname Unknown. The Hindman family is found on the 1850 census in Jackson County, Alabama. The surname is spelled as "Hendmon" on this census.
In 1858 the Hindman family left Alabama and moved to Lamar County, Texas.Mary Caroline married Robert Davenport in 1872.Her mother, Margaret, died sometime between 1860 and 1864 as her father James remarried in 1864.
Mary's twin brother was David Hindman.I am a descendant of Mary's older brother, William, who was also a twin.I have found one other individual researching the Mary Hindman/Robert Davenport family. His research has been primarily focused on the Davenport surname.
As to the Kirkpatricks there was a Francis Hindman who married Marvin Kirkpatrick of Honey Grove, Texas in 1933. Please let me know if you are interested in this family as I do have a contact for them.
The Lamar County USGen website has an excellent database of marriages as well as cemetery listings. Many of the cemetery listings have additional information. There is also an option to add a note with additional information about individuals to the marriage database and a contact address.
