Jackson of the 81st Reg of TN Vols at Morristown Tennessee on the 1st day of Dec 1862 to serve three years.He was born in Grainger Co. in the state of TNHe is 35 years of age.5’7” tall.Fair complexion, blue eyes and light hair and by occupation when enlisted a farmer.During the last two mths said soldier has been unfit for duty 60 days.Said soldier is languishing under same disease of the chest and has done no duty since enlistment and has been on the sick list every since enlistment.I respectfully urge a discharge for said Soldier.

Jackson’s company and find him incapable of performing the duties of a soldier because of the hypotrophy of the heart, dropsical effusion within the pericardium.His breathing is very short and difficult.When he walks a short distance he is overcome with palpitation of the heart.He suffers greatly.He is unfit for Jail, Hospital, or garrison duty.J.C.
