I don't have Gilbert Hilt, but I do have the following possible fathers or grandfathers: William b 1805, Henry b 1810, Jacob b 1816,Peter b 1818, Isiah b 1820, Thomas b 1823. These are the sons of Henry Hilt b 1776. The boys were probably born in Montgomery County OH. You should be able to find them in Tippecanoe County IN as adults. Look at 1860 census. Let me know if this helps.
