Hi Hillyards

For those of you tracing our family name and history there follows the results of my search here in Roade, South Northamptonshire, England.

My name is Christopher David Hillyard (Born 04/03/1957), only son of Dennis Frank Hillyard (Born 31/08/1920)

Dennis was the only son of William John Hillyard, who was baptised 24/02/1889, William had one other child, a daughter Betty who married Raymond Williams and died in 1979. William John Hillyard died in1965

William John Hillyard was the 8th and final child of Joseph Hillyard, who was baptised in Roade in 1850. Married to Alice Fielding, the other seven children in order of issue as follows –
(1)       Carrie Alice- Baptised 19/10/1873, and married a Jimmy Dent and known to have lived in Rothersthorpe, Northants.
(2)       Sarah Ellen – Baptised19/12/1875, married a Thomas Wilkinson and known to have lived in Wolverton area, North Buckinghamshire.
(3)       Annie Kate – Baptised 21/09/1877, twice married, first to a Spencer and secondly to a Preston, again lived in the North Buckinghamshire area.
(4)       Herbert Edward – Baptised 07/11/1879, married a Madge Gomy, they lived in Tring in North Buckinghamshire and latterly Aylesbury.
(5)       Margaret – Baptised 21/04/1882, married to a Fred Peck.
(6)       Lilly Ada – Baptised 05/10/1884, married Thomas W Garrett, known to have lived in the Heyford area of Northants.
(7)       Francis Rose – Baptised 24/02/1887.

Alice died in1891, Joseph re married to Ann Fern without further issue, Joseph died in 1919.

Joseph Hillyard was the fist issue of George Hillyard, Baptised – 22/09/1816. George who married Mary Ann Howes (21/09/1846) had the following further issue –

(2) John – Baptised 28/07/1850 – Twin of Joseph.
(3) Thomas – Baptised 09/07/1850
(4) Sarah Ann – Baptised 05/10/1854, married Thomas Howes
(5) William – Baptised 23/05/1858
(6) Margaret – Baptised 26/02/1860
(7) Mary Jane – Baptised 26/02/1860
(8)       Elizabeth – Baptised 15/06/1862, married George Lines

George died in 1881

George Hillyard, one of triplets, was the issue of John Hillyard, Baptised 24/09/1782. John married Rebecca ?, with the following other issue –

(1)       William – Baptised 22/09/1816
(2)       Mary – Baptised 22/09/1816
(3)       John – Baptised 24/09/1820, married Mary Pacy.
(4)       Eleanor – Baptised 02/03/1820, married George Robinson

Upon Rebecca’s death John remarried to Mary Anne Button, with further issue –

(1)       Ann – Baptised 03/11/1833
(2)       Sarah – Baptised 02/08/1835, married George Freeman
(3)       Caroline – Baptised 04/04/1837
(4)       Jane – Baptised 12/05/1839

John was buried 26/12/1851

John Hillyard was the third issue of Jasper Hillyard, who married Sarah, with the following other issue –

(1)       William – Baptised 14/06/1778
(2)       Sarah – Baptised 25/09/1780
(3)       Thomas – Baptised 25/09/1785
(4)       Jasper – Baptised 23/09/1787
(5)       Clark – Baptised 20/09/1789
(6)       Johome

This is as far as I’ve been able to go back with the help of the Parish Church records, I trust it will be of use to someone.
