Your grandfather was the son of "Fred" Hills, son of Seth Hart Hills. Fred Hills owned the FH Bar Ranch. Fred Hills graduated from an Eastern College in the 1880's or thereabouts and took his inheritance west investing in the ranch. As he got older, he and the wife had problems dealing with the weather. They bought lands in Florida and came up agaist the local establishment, eventually having to give up a large Florida operation. In his old age, Fred still had 200 acres of citrus groves.

This Hills family traces back to Williams Hills the 1630's immigrant to Hartford, Conn. Fred was famous in Denver for having built his bride a 17 room home that actually had an indoor toilet.
