I was able to trace this through New York census records. The Thynes lived in Fulton County, N Y. The only Mary Hillman who fits locally is Mary, the daughter of George H. Hillman (born April, 1859) and Eva born June, 1859. Did your mother ever hear aunts Ethel, Alice, Nellie, or Georgiana or an uncle Henry ? The family goes back to Hillmans from Massachusets who settled originally in the Town of Florida, in Montgomery County. about 1810. They were distantly related to my grandfather, but his branch went to Canada after the American Revolution The Thynes are interesting. The J evidently stands for Joseph. J Worden's father was William and his grandfather Joseph. The latter's parents were both born in Scotland... Notify Administrator about this message?
