William Warren Clark was the father of Everett Virgil Clark who married Cora Emily Hillis, in Butler/MO. She was the d. of Henry Ross Hillis , son of Samuel C. Hillis (and Elizabeth Osborn) > Samuel Hillis, Jr., Rev. War Patriot > Samuel Hillis and Ann Luckie.
In the 1870 Prentiss/MS census there are 6 orphans living in the h/h with a James Hillis (76)and Rebecca (73)who are listed as are orphans: Polly Clark, Sarah, Felip, William(Warren) Clark (age 5)and Eliza Carpenter. William would marry into the Hillis family in Butler MO. William states that his parents were both born in TN, (meaning that James and Rebecca ( ? )were born ~ 1840's or earlier).
I am discovering that most of my brick walls are right there in KY/TN and as I descend from a Warren and a Clark, seeing this Warren/Clark/Hillis connection in TN may be a missing link.
Anyone know this family? Who is this James Hillis who married a Rebecca? (I know of the James, son of John Hillis who married a Mary Naylor sister of a Rebecca Naylor...)?
Who were the parents of this William Warren Clark and his siblings?
