HILLIS Francis m Mary Laird 1869 High Church Renfrew Scotland

Most of my Hillis line are from Scotland. Paisley Renfrew and surrounding areas. G Grandfather Francis brought his family of 9 and wife Jeanie to Boston in 1923.

The census in 1930 G Grandfather Francis reports his father was born in Northern Ireland. I can't remember even one of my grandparents or their siblings ever mentioning that their grandfather was from anywhere but Scotland. I don't know how that slipped by old papa. I know that GG Francis was married to Mary Laird in 1869 High Church Renfrew Scotland. This couple started having children in 1871. His second son Francis is born Jan 1874 in Renfrew maybe Low Church.
Francis and Mary had 3 children that I have been able to find. I've got a couple of hits in Antrim and Armagh North Ireland but it'll be hard to verify.
Possible GGG Grandfather James
James Hillis, born abt 1804 in Antrim Ireland He may have been married to a Mary, born 1814 Tipperary. They had 13 children, Francis, John, Mary Ann, Margaret, Hill, Joseph, Ester, William, Sarah, Eisza, Charlotee, Catherine and George.

There's a pair of Hillis brothers owning land in Armagh Ireland in the mid to late 1870s .... Yep.... Francis and John. Bring it on....

My Francis would have been in Scotland by 1865 or so. I don't know if one would sell property before leaving for another country.

Anyone recognize these Hillis'?

Other names in the line Laird, Stevenson, Hunter, Hobson, Campbell

Sincerely,
David Stevenson Hillis
