My Grandfather was according to his death certificate, HUBERT JOHN HILLIER died 27/04/1933, aged 49, in Southampton.According to my father's birth certificate his name was not Hubert but Herbert. I cannot find his birth details (born c.1844), although the family recollect he always said his birthdate was St Georges Day (23 April)
He lived most of his married life in Eastleigh, Hampshire and had a family of 7 children. I have a handed down birth certificate (copied 23/3/1900) for my grandmother Maud Louise HARPER born 13.11.1882. I can find no record of their marriage, but on my father's birth certificate (1915)it says his mother was Maud Louise Hillier formerly Cain not Harper as expected.
I can find no record of a marriage for either of my grandparents, but would be very grateful if anyone can connect with the details given.
