Tabitha, Please go to the HILLYARD forum and look at my posting # 74 and see if you think this is your family! I have a feeling you and I may be related since you & I both have Hillards & Milburn lines but I can't prove how at this time! I will continue to watch out for your family. My people are from Cherokee Indian blood mixed with white! You will find in your research,"B" for BLACK listed on the census, sometimes, or an "I" is listed representing INDIAN. Don't let that fool you as the Indians sometimes said they were WHITE or Black to avoid persecution in those days and also the Census takers sometimes classified them as such! Another thing I know is that Indians had to register or be affiliated with a church. This is how the government kept track of most of them. Hope this helps you!!
