Richard.

Thanks for the up-date. Since last I logged any information in, I have come to prove that John Hiles did NOT serve with the Maryland. That was, in fact, John MILES. I copied the roll. Where did you get the information for the October 6, 1752 birthdate? And, where in PA? Also, where did you get the 1822 for death? I have documentation that he and Mary sold Chillicothe land in about 1830, so I'm thinking that this may not be him. ALTHOUGH, I am coming to believe that there were, in fact, TWO John Hiles men (not John Jr) in this area as early as 1800. I have a list of men with TWO listed for 1801 Ohio. Peter and Hannah, I believe, belong to the other Hiles. There is also a John Henry Hiles who I believe is in that bunch. Where did you find the information on Andrew? I've seen several documenta on John (April-Aug 1789: war documents) and Christopher (Nov 1790). Is Jackson Charity's son or Nancy's?

I would LOVe to get more information on the Fairfield, Perry, and Hocking Co areas. As I said, there is definitely a puzzle. There is a John Hiles, Henry Hiles, and a Nicholas Hiles... all living in the area about the same time. Most of these, however, were in Hocking and not in the same vacinity as John Hiles, John Forsythe, John Hiles Sr, Christopher Hiles, etc.

Would love to compare notes! ANd THANK YOU!
