I'm so glad you answered my posting. Do you happen to know when and where John and Paulser first settled after coming to America? After checking the DAR website I found John Hillis as you mentioned but no John Hiles. No wife was named and only one child named Isaac, who m. a Rebecca Naylor. This DAR patriot was stated to have been b. in NC and d. in Scott Co., KY. It also stated he served from Frederick Co., VA during the Revolutionary War. I am familiar with the “History of Bourbon, Scott, Harrison and Nicholas Counties” and with the Draper Manuscripts. Have also done extensive research on the Prices in KY and VA before 1850. My research also shows a John Price there in 1779, but I am not sure which John Price this is. Do you happen to know? You mention that John Price was the justice of the peace taking the sworn affidavit of Paulser, but was that in Scott County or a neighboring county? Would be interested in the address of Mr. Blaine K. Price. Have you corresponded with him before? “The Pennsylvania-German in the Revolutionary War, 1775-1783” lists a Conrad Hiles who d. 17 May 1821 in Fayette county, at age sixty-one. So sorry I can’t offer you more information. Notify Administrator about this message?
