Many thanks for the good info. This is indeed the Nancy Hiler in my family tree. She married Darius P. Merritt (two "r"s and two "t"s), born 1811 Morris Co, NJ, died 1884 Brooklyn, Kings, NY. They had a daughter, Claire Merritt (b 1852, Morris Co, NJ, d. 1917, Warwick, Orange Co, NY) Claire married Marcus J. Pulis of Bergen Co, NJ.
(NOTE: Darius / Darias was a popular name for the Morris Coounty Merritt family over several generations, can be confusing in searches. I have verified that Nancy Hiler's Darius P. Merritt is the son of Anna Mase and Daniel Merritt (b 1781, Morris Co, NJ and d. 1834 Morris Co, NJ -- and the grandson of Nancy Garrigus and Samuel Merritt (1744 -1802). Samuel served in Capt. Josiah Hall's Company in the American Revolution.
