You stated in your message that the George Hileman born 1799 in Rockbridge, Va is the son of John(Johannes) and Hannah Rumple.
I have a copy of petetion to the court for guardianship of Daniel(George's younger brother) it reads as follows:
Guardianship of Daniel Hileman, Butler County Ohio Court, December Term. 1816. Daniel Hileman an orphan minor; Be rembered that an application the guardianship of the person & estate of Daniel Hileman, an orphan under the age of 18 years, one of three sons and heirs at law of John Hileman, late of the County aforesaid deceased hereby committed unto John Hileman, of the same County of Butler, until the the said minor shall arrive at the full age according to the form of the Statute in such case lately made and provided the said guardian with George Hileman, his surety having given bond in the sum of two hundred dollars. Cost $1.50
Your George would have been 17 years old and it unlikely the court would have given him co-guardianship. Much has been written about George b. 1799 as the son of John, but after I got this document it was hard to beleive.
