According to Wavie McCurdy Miller, the daughter of John C McCurdy & Pearlie Masters , when Nancy became ill she went to the house of Pearlie to be cared for , and after she died John stayed to take care of the things around the store she had just opened. Later John & Pearlie were married. { this is confusing to some as Pearlie had first married to Rufus Wylie , the son of Nancy , and after the death of Rufus and then of Nancy , John married Pearlie. They were not blood relatives, only through marriage was she the daughter in law of Nancy Tuggle-Wylie-McCurdy

There are a few discrepancies in the age of Nancy, but she was born before 1860 ,( and not in 1862 as listed on her death certificate ) as she was on the 1860 Census in Estill Co.,Ky with her parents for that year.

DEATH OF DAVE WILEY
Old Settler passed away at his home near Westminister
Dave Wiley, aged about fifty-six years, died at his home near Westminister after an illness of seven months duration. He was reared in this County, having come from Kentucky with his parents while quite a small boy, before the War, who settled on the farm now owned by M W Younger, Northwest of town.
Mr. Wiley was a brother-in-law of R. B. Moore and Jesse Martin, who live near Melissa and an uncle by marriage to Gene Martin and Mrs. Jim Barnett of this city. He had many friends in this city and over the county where he is well known and highly respected and esteemed by all.
He is survived by a wife , and one daughter Miss Lottie, to whom the Dailey Courier and The Democrat join other friends in extending sympathy. Interment was made at Elm Grove Cemetery today.
