I know this family, at least by research. Samuel was born Dec 28, 1876 Wayne Twp, Darke County OH, Died Sept 5, 1947 Bradford County OH. He married Jessie Fairfield born June 28, 1877. I recall hard evidence that she was born in Indiana, but the group sheet that I have indicates she was born in Kokomo. I can't tell you what evidence I may have had at one time to back that up. It might be a good starting place. Jessie A Fairfield died Nov 7, 1949 Bradford, Miami County OH. As I recall, she was living with one of her children, a daughter I believe. I corresponded with a couple of their children at one time. Jessie and Samuel were married March 27, 1897. According to a grandson of theirs, their first born son was Indian. I never determined Jessie's heritage, but do not have any reason to think Samuel was Indian. However, Fred the oldest son was born 1895, so suppose it's possible that he wasn't Samuel's natural son.
