My reason for working this, is that I have located my Hildreth line back to South Carolina in the 1800 census and in the City Directories of Charleston as well as in baptismal records of a church there. In addition, my Benjamin G. HILDRETH ended up in the Charleston Orphan House and there are records of such.

He then married a Dowling and went to South East Alabama were the family was involved in the Methodist Church of Flordia and Alabama.

I believe with some significant faith that my Hildreth line comes out of the New York line that is listed in this will, thouggh there has been some assumptions made in certain genealogies that miss a generation.

Look forward to additional conversation.
