Hi Deborah Your father, Melvin Henry Hildreth, b. July 8, 1924. His father was Milton Hildreth, b. December 15, 1891. Milton's father was Jessie Hildreth, b. 1840. I was wondering if they were from California?
I'm delighted to hear that Milt's father was Jessie Hildreth, b. 1840. I have always felt there was a connection with this side of the family.
My great grandfather was William Jefferson Hildreth b. 1834 in MO. His son Louis Murray Hildreth b 1880 in CA. His son, my father William Standley Hildreth b 1914, CA. My father had a cousin who's name was Melvin Hildreth.
I also would suggest that you contact Lewis Ruddick, lruddick@ix.netcom.com He was related to Melvin Hildreth and Milton Hildreth was his step father.
