Yes, the Heldreths are part of the Hildreths. The Heldreth name apparently got started in West Virgina, probably as a misprint or mis-interpretation of the name Hildreth on some document. This resulted in a whole clan of Heldreths in W. Virginia, some of whom have spread to other parts of the country. The males, however, likely carry the same Y-Chromosomes as the Hildreths and that could be proven by one of the males joining the Hildreth DNA project and having his genetic DNA tested.
