Harry Coxon, an English volunteer in the Durham area, has located a civil record for Richard Hildreth indicating his birth in or near Gainford, Durham, England in the year 1605. This was a late entry made by his wife, Sarah. You will not find this in the Gainford parish records as the page with this date on it is missing. There is no record of his burial in Gainford, dates fit with his recorded age on his tombstone.

Look in FamilySearch, the Mormom church online records for more information.
