Hi allan,
when reading about Astbury church, which was the original one for Congleton and area, I came across references to several Staton wills pre 1812. Hilditch name believed to originate in nearby Barthomley parish, which then included Alsager. Then spread widely into Audley parish. If yoy go to Cheshire bmd site you will get much basic data on several million entries 1837 to now.
