My ggrandfather was Joseph Caplin Hilburn. In the 1850 census Jospeh was living with the J.H. Perdues and I see he had a daughter Mary Perdue. My ggrandmother was Mary Lou Perdue but on the census she was 12 and Joseph was 26 On the 1860 census I found Jospeh C. Hilburn and Benjamin Hilburn together in Winn Parish. My grandfather John Frederick Hilburn was born 1854 in Ringgold, Bienville Parish which is next to Winn Parish. According to my Hilburn book, Mary Lou Perdue died 1858 with her 4th child.
The oldest Julia was born 1852 so Mary Lou her mother was only 14 when she was born. Joseph did have a half brother Benjamin but he would have been 18 yrs older than Joseph. I dont know if this is the Benjamin or not.
