Higsons of Colne/Marsden Lancashire

Just posting updated info after new searches on census records at the London Family Records Centre...

My 4x great grandfather was Thomas HIGSON, who I believe married an Alice INMAN (m. Colne 1825).

Their children: Matthew (b. Manchester 1828), Ann (b. Manchester 1831), Thomas (b. Marsden 1834), Margaret (b. Marsden 1836), Hartley (b. Oldham 1840), Mary (b. Colne 1843), and Henry (b. Marsden 1850).

I believe Hartley married a Sarah and they lived in Moston in 1881.

My 3x great grandfather Matthew married Sarah WILDMAN at Colne in 1848. Their children included: Nancy (b. Marsden 1849), John (b. Marsden 1852), Margaret (b. Marsden 1856), Mary (b. Brierfield, Marsden 1861), Elizabeth (b. Brierfield 1870) and Emma (b. Burnley 1873).

Most of these Higsons worked as coal miners, or as cotton weavers if they were female.

All the best - Garen.
