A.M. Higson painting

I have a watercolour painting of some buildings set among trees in an (English?) rural setting with a field in the foreground. The painting has been in my family for quite some time. I believe that it was probably painted some time last century. I was told some time ago that it might have something to do with my family's history, but I have my doubts. However, I do wish to trace the house down if I can. It is signed A. M. Higson in the bottom right corner and the words "Hale Manor House" are written in pencil on the backing cardboard.
As a first step, I wondered if anyone in this forum has any knowledge of the painter's identity.
Any assistance gratefully received. I can email a photo of the painting if that would help.
