Abstract of Deed Books 11-14 of Rowan County North Carolina1786-1797 by James W. KluttzPage 166 of Deed Book 14
It follows:
3264p. 890.21 Apr 1797.Missneias HIGHTOWER, spinner, to his sons Pleasant and Charnal, and to his daughter Mary, for love and affection, all his goods and chattels in his dwelling house, one cow, and 8 head of hogs.Wit:Josiah BAILE, Townshend DENT.Ack at May Ct 1797.
Where does Missneias fit in with the generally accepted Hightower lines?
This Mary should be the same Mary that married Townsend DENT 12 May 1797 in Caswell County, NC.
Is this the Pleasant that according to Homer Hightower's research was Pleasant Henry born Dec 11, 1759?
Homer also stated, "However, in the early 1800's in Davie Co. NC (cut off from Rowan County) near Mocksville, there were two brothers, Lee and Avery, whose father was Pleasant who was an adult before 1800."
According to oral family history, there WERE two brothers Avery and Lee that lived near Mocksville, NC.Lee, who is found in records as Leroy is my ancestor.I have found no records to date on Avery.
Is this Pleasant, son of Missneias, the Pleasant that Homer stated was the father of Lee and Avery?
Who is Messe(o)ner on the 1790 tax census for Rowan County with 1 free white male under the age of 16 and 3 free females (No adult males or other persons are listed)?
