Teresa Williams, daughter of William Williams and Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" Williams, married Samuel Highsmith. -- Teresa's mother: Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" Williams, daughter of Allumbee Williams and Sarah "Sally" Unknown <NOT Sarah Clark>, married first her cousin William Williams; married second Winslow Turner II. -- Teresa is NOT a descendant of Christopher Clark and Elizabeth Adams. Her uncle Alembe Williams, Jr. (b.1791)married Sarah Clark. If you are a member of this family PLEASE help with correcting the confusion between father and son. Williams: Alembe, Alumbe, Alambe, Alembee, Alumbee, Alambee, Allumbee, Alum, Allam, Allenbee, Allenby, etc. THERE SEEMS TO BE A LOT OF CONFUSION about this family line that has lead to inaccurate postings which as we all know, once it is put into print it's almost impossible to correct. If you believe you are part of this family line it is important for you to know that SARAH CLARK, daughter of Maj. Christopher Clark and Elizabeth Adams, is the daughter-in-law of Revelutionary Soldier Allumbee (Allen B.) Williams and not his wife. WE HAVE NOT YET IDENTIFIED HIS WIFE. The only name located in documentation is Sarah "Sally". PLEASE HELP US CLARIFY this error by sending corrections to owners of incorrect data bases. There are many descendants who are following the WRONG ancestral lines as a result of this. This one took me a long time to figure out because many RootsWeb trees have confused father and son for this Williams line making it very difficult for descendants to connect and research the appropriate ancestors.
