The will of John Hignight (Sr) mentions several children, John Hignight (Jr), Joseph Hignight (my wife's line) and others. John (Sr) was born about 1740-45 in Maryland, and his father's name was James Hignut (Hignight) who was born ABOUT 1705 in Maryland. John (sr) was in the Revolutionary War, along with his brothers Daniel b abt 1745-50 d 1808, James b1754, and Thomas b abt 1758 (ALL four brothers served in the Rev. War) At war's end, Daniel remained in Maryland, but the other three sons either stayed in the South or moved here by 1780. In about 1828, John (jr) moved to Illinois, his brother Moses went into Kentucky abt 1800, and brother Joseph stayed in the Montgomery/Humphreys County area of TN. Their descendents moved into Mississippi, Missouri, and Arkansas. I hope this helps. Check with Jeff Augustine for more on that line, and possibly the maiden name your are searching for.
