Mary Ann Highfield

I'm looking for information on Mary Ann Highfield, I seem to be stuck and I am getting flustered. Mary Ann married Samuel Barlow in 1854 in Cheshire.

On census records (1881 & 1891) she is listed as being born in Cheshire (aged 45 & 54 respectively). But on the 1901 census she is listed as being born in Lancs Manchester (aged 65). With the other people on the census records (and the age match) I know this is the same person.

On the marriage certificate her father is listed as John Highfield a brickmaker.

The only Mary Ann Highfield I have been able to find is one christening record on 22 Jan 1837 in Warrington, Lancashire. Parents listed as John and Hannah Highfield.

I know that my Mary could have been born before 1837 (the family histroy key date) do I now have to look in parish records for both Cheshire (but where) or in Lancashire (Manchester only???).

Can anyone help point me in the right direction.
