Highfields - Germans from Ireland
Another source of the name - from Heyfle or Hiffle, Palatine names from Ireland. In 1709 the English imported a number of German Palatine Protestants into the Limerick area of Ireland. One of the family names was Heyfle, which eventually became Highfield. My Great-great grandfather, b. Ireland in the early 1820's, had the name WilliamHighfield Faught (originally Fock or Vogt). He was from a German Palatine family.
