I have been searching and searching where this couple is buried. I do know that in the 1900 Census they were living in Paris, Lamar, Texas. Benton died in 1906, place unknown, and Nancy died in 1923 in Spur, Dickens, Texas; burial unknown. In the 1910 Census cannot find Nancy in Texas anywhere. In the 1920 Census she was living with Thomas Almod, her son in Spur, Dickens, Texas. I found an obituary for her but it only tells about her passing there in Spur.
Now, I have found a listing in the Arkansas Confederate Pension Applications from Calhoun, Dallas, Ouachita and Union Counties; Page 14: Tidwell, Benton; widow: Nancy; Co. C, 34 Texas Dismtd. Cav.; she applied: 1911.
I am now trying to find out if Benton and Nancy moved to Arkansas sometime after the 1900 census and before he died, since she applied for her widows pension in 1911 in Arkansas. I do not know how to find out. I am hoping someone out there can help me find this information, or can at least get me stated in the right direction. thanks for any help you can give me.
