Jerry, Where are you located? I have been trying for several years to track down Fountain Higginson and his wife, Mary Elizabeth Walker. My interest is through her as I am a direct descendant of her brother, Thomas Jefferson Walker (1837 - 1913) born in England and died in Edwards Co., Ill. I have not been able to find an Edwards Co. death record for either, although I have found such records for their children. Do you know exactly where the "Higginson" cemetery is? Is it where Gregg Fulton thinks it is, in White Co., Ill. northwest of Grayville? I visit that area twice yearly and will be there again in August and sure would like to find where they are buried. Do you have documentation on their deaths? I know of some of their descendants still living in Edwards Co. Looking forward to your reply!
