Margaruite and Nathaniel Higgins, Multnomah Co, Oregon
The state is Oregon, the relationship I'm not sure, but am wondering if Margarite could have been her daughter Blanche. You understand this is speculation, that is why I'm asking regarding this family.
Below is all the info I have on this family:
Looking for Ransom Brown b. 9/1858 in NC. He lived with his father Jehu Brown in Macon County, NC, Blue Ridge area according to the 1880 census. By 1889 Ransom had married Rebecca Jennie Cockram b. 6/1862 in NC. She was the daughter of James Washington Cockram.
In 1900 Ransom and Rebecca "Jennie" Brown were living in Highlands, Macon Co., NC and had the following children:
1. Pearl b. 11/1890 NC
2. Maude b. 4/1893 NC
3. Blanche b. 3/1895 NC
4. Eva b. 6/1898 NC
They moved out of the area and were living in Lane Co., Oregon, Fairmount district and Pearl was not with them. Apparently she had either married in NC or OR, but have lost track of her. Then by 1920, the family had settled into Baker County, Pine, district 21 of Oregon. On this census there are on the last 2 girls still living at home; Blanche 24 and Eva 22.
After that the only records I have of them would be a Jennie Brown living with a Margaruite and Nathaniel Higgins. Jennie is listed as 68 years of age. I'm pretty sure this our Jennie, not absolutely. No sign of Ransom, so either he died or something. I did find a Ransom who would have been about the right age as a boarder in 1930 with an Alex and Dora Bryson. This could be another Ransom too, so...
This is all the info I have at present. If anyone has anything they could add or even suggestions I would appreciate it. Would love to hear from anyone belonging to this family.
Thanks so much in advance!
