I am a descendant of John Hidy, also -- probably the 6th one, too.I am a DAR daughter, have been in the organization about 3 years.John Hidy is my only claim to the Rev. War., however, I think the Trexler line, also, had a part in the Rev. War. and one of the Hidy descendants married a Trexler while the war was going on.Email your mailing address to me ( at D. Wilkins, 6111 Roseland Drive, Rockville, MD20852-3648) and I will mail you a copy of my lineage paper showing the connection. There are two places, one in the Penn. Archives book and one in Ohio's Dill's Record of Ohio history that verifies John Hidy's service in the war. Believe at the time of his service, his name was spelled Heyde.
I also received just yesterday a picture of John Hidy's gravestone, in Highland County, VA.I got this person's name from the web, here, believe it's a "Miller" person. He could send you a picture, too. Please excuse the lack of information now, as I'm at work, and have everything at home.Welcome to the clan !!!We're distant cousins.
