I posted previously about Cullen Hickock husband of Susan Tolen. Here is what I had on him-- (Doc. Sandwich Free Press Obituary, April: 1891):

Susan (Tolen) Hickok, wife of Cullen C. Hickok, Sandwich, Ill.

Susan Tolen, born in Ireland, April 27, 1827
Came to America in Feb., 1851-- landing at Whitehall, NY
She and Cullen moved to Sandwich, Il -- 1872
Four Sons and three daughters:
William C. (Sylvester)
Fred H.
Walter W.
Herbert S.
Mrs. Sarah Pratt
Mrs. Katy Eberly
Mrs. Jennie Cluff, of Chicago [my great, great, great grandmother]
Husband, Cullen died Feb.4, 1883

From Cullen's Obituary:
Died Feb.4, 1883:
Cullen C. Hickok, born in Fairhaven, Vermont in 1825. Married Susan Tolen in 1851. Leaves wife and 9 children. Note in obit: "Little son Walter was stricken dumb from excitiment and grief."

A researcher in Vermont came up with the following:

This is what I have so far. I find the the Fair Haven & West Haven Cemetery Inscription book by Margaret Jenks, page 4:

- - - - - - - -, d. June 5, 1837 age 39y. mother of Calen Hicock (broken, top gone) So next I go to my copies of the cemetery cards I find there:
Betsey Hickok age 39
Husband: Joel Hickok
date of death; June 5, 1837
Now I find in the History of Fair Haven by A.N. Adams
page 327:
LYDIA CHURCH, a widow from Massachusetts, whose maiden name was Babcock, and who was married to Ethan Whipple in December 1815, had a family who came to Fair Haven as follows;
1.Sophronia, m. a Smith, of Massachusetts,
2, Betsey, m. Joel Hickock; d. in town about 1838
3.Lydia, m. a Mr. Todd, and resides in Rockville, Ill.
4.Sylvanus, was engaged in the salt business at Syracuse; d. in Whitehall and was buried in Fair Haven.
5. Lucinda, m. Florus Meachaml is now dead
6. Harvey, who married and resides in Troy, N.Y., where he has been engaged in the lumber trade.

On page 12 of the Cemetery inscription book I find
Whipple, Ethan d. Dec. 18, 1836 age 79y
Whipple, Mary M. dau. of Ethan and Lydia d. Oct. 14, 1821 age 6y.
Whipple, John son of Ethan and Lydia d. Oct 6, 1821 age 3y 6m.
In the Fair Haven town cemetery records
I find Lydia Whipple d. age 83 Aug. 13, 1857 she is also buried in West St. Cemetery I can only assume with the family but her stone was either not ever put up or has been destroyed over the years.
The probate records for the years when Ethan died have been lost to a fire in 1862.
I will look around to see if I can find more on Lydia and Ethan.
I can't find anything on Cullen, except his name on the stone.

I did further resarch on Cullen Hickock and Joel Hickcok and Betsey Church's parents... However, after folling that whole family tree, I just came across the following reference:

According to: THE BROWN GENEALOGY, VOL. 1, Boston, The Everett Press Co., 1907, by Cyrus Henry
Brown, page 315.
Unmarried. Cullen Heackock/Hickock son of Joel Heacock died in Whitehall, NY, unmarried. Either this is not the same Cullen Heackock/Hickock or the source is wrong... Not sure where I connected Cullen to Joel...

Brown Genealogy lists him as having died in Whitehall... Susan Tolen, who married Cullen Hickock and had Jennie Hickock, arrived in America in Whitehall, NY.

My question is: Was there more than one Cullen Hickock (Calen Heacock) living in Fairhaven, VT at this time? Were there, perhaps, cousins who were born there a year apart? Is my Cullen actually the son of Joel, or is he perhaps the son of one of Joel's brothers or an uncle in Fairhaven? Anyone able to shed some light on this for me?
