Anyone desiring the photographs (jpgs) I took of this will may write me at [email protected] and tell me why you are interested in seeing this document. Are you related to anyone mentioned in the will? I'm interested in hearing your story in exchange for my photos.
William Prothro's name came up in many of the documents at the Darlington Historical Commission that concerned Thomas Hickson. Thomas Hickson's will in 1810 points to Hesse Hickson, named as Thomas' daughter in his will, as being married to William Prothro in 1810.Hesse's sister (or half-sister?) Salley (aka Sarah), born in 1798, was only 12 at the time, but would in a few years marry William Prothro's nephew, Evan Prothro.
I've never seen the name James Hickson associated with Sarah (Salley) Hickson or Thomas Hickson.I'd be interested in hearing from anyone what happened to James. What happened to Hesse Hickson? My ggg grandfather Levi Hickson married Susan Prothro, said to be the daughter of William Prothro. Was this the same William Prothro who married Hesse Hickson?I'd welcome any ideas on this.
