Jerri, I would hope that I could to a descemdent. of Cheif Chas, I no that it is a very, very REMOTE possiblity!!
However, in your vast researches have you come across a William Morrell Hicks, born in VA or NC in 1776.He married an Elizabeth Mongomery and migrated to Perry Co., IN in 1801, where he died many years later.Wm. was the grandfather of my gr gr Grandmother, Cynthia Hicks Hemphill ( daughter of Wm. Jr born 1803).
I have worked on this on and off for three years ( got sidetracked on other branches!!)and have never gotten beyond him.
SOMEONE has done a lot of work up to that point because I found the tree immediately with dates, children, etc down three generations, but it wasn't from any of my grandmother's siblings/I must have some distant cousins
somewhere in Indiana who are des also.Wish I knew!!
Any info that would point me furtherup the line would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

P.S.
I would love to leave behind as extensive a tree as possible for my grandchildren, Gavin(13), Adelaine (Lainey-3), and Isabel (2).Knowing where you came from is so important, isn't it?
fomy grandchildren , Gavin, Adelaine, and Isabel
