No, I don't recognize the names. However,I'm sorry to say that I do have a will from Ann Hickman over in Marango Co. Al (no proven relation to me, so far) that mentions slaves in a will probated in 1838.She apparently had no living children or husband. She mentions a brother and other nieces (at least one in MS) to whom she gave money, but no slaves.
These were all bequethed to various nieces and nephews in a Baptist family name (for example niece Eliza E. Baptist received Jane). The first 3 slaves are female, the rest are male.
Fanny,
Jane,
Luckey,
Milson,
Oscar,
Hendrick
I post this in case someone else may recognize them.Is there a site for African Americans to look up slave ancestors?I'm not aware.
