My greatgrandparents are J.D.(Kentucky) and Flora Ragle Hicklin (Alabama) FLora was said to be a very kind person who died very young after having 5 kids. J.D mourned her death deeply for several years and spoke of her much throughout his life.Their children,Lee Elmer(married Hettie), Dessie May(married D.E. Hilderbrand, James Milburn,(married 2nd wife Phyllis), Stella J.(married Langston), and Luda(married Herbert McClearn. J.D. married Martha Gibson in 1908 and had 5 more kids. Lula(Tug) who my mother says was a fantastic person and seen her shortly before her death in 1997, married Hugh "Buddy" Sifford, Onie and Marie, who never married, but raised their sister Hettyes' son, Dannie Muse, after Hettye died in childbirth, Hettye(married Don Muse, ....my aunt Hettye is named after this Hettye, and also they had a son Joe(married Geraldine Ford) My mother lived with J.D. in 1950 til his death in 1953. She has many great storied of him.
