Hicklin Family Genealogy Forum

Anne, they're not dying out here in the U.S. There are Hicklins (both black and white) all over the country. I trace back to a John Hicklin of Ireland or Scotland, whose son, Thomas Wilson Hicklin Sr. was possibly born here (Penssylvania), or more likely emigrated here as a child. Descent from Thomas to me goes from Pennsylvania to Virginia (date ?), to Kentucky (by 1804), to Iowa (by 1842), to Ohio (c. 1945), to California (1973). In a very short time I've found several direct ancestors who fought in the American Revolution, and at least one (Captain Thomas Wilson Hicklin Jr.) was at Yorktown when General Cornwallis surrendered to George Washington.
