Mrs. Mary K. Gardner, 66, a lifelong resident of Fleming County, died Saturday at 10:10 p.m. in St. Joseph's Hospital, Lexington.She had been declining in health for a number of months and death was attributed to complications.
Mrs. Gardner, a resident of Route 1, Wallingford, was born March 29, 1903.Her parents were the late George and Hannah Jones Hickerson.
She is survived by her husband, Chester Gardner and three children who are Mrs. Dora Ellen Fox of Route 1, Ewing, Bruce Gardner, of Route 1, Flemingsburg and Archie Gardner of Route 1, Wallingford.She also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Henry Doyle, Mrs. Woodrow Lee and Mrs. Violet Hurst, all of Flemingsburg, four brothers, Leslie Hickerson, of Craintown, Garr Hickerson. the Rev Elbert Hickerson and Clyde Hickerson, all of Route 1, Flemingsburg.Other survivors include six grandchildren.A daughter, Miss Hazel June Gardner, died in 1954.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday in the Wallingford United Methodist Church.The Rev. Paul Brewer, of Maysville, officiated and interment was in the Wallingford Cemetery.
