Hi Chris,
I've just recently started doing the Hibberd Clan. My dad was a Hibberd.
I have gone back to 1884 when my George Hibberd died at Kangaroo Flat, Victoria at the age of 78.Other researchers show that he was born in 1815 at Drumfield (Dronfield?) in Derbyshire.
Dad said they came from Yorkshire. It to me looks like he was born in or around 1806.He may have been the illegitimate son of John and Elizabeth? Also the one who came out here as a convict in 1834 on the "Roslin Castle" from London. This George was listed as coming from Yorkshire and was 27 at the time and a file cutter. It was about the same time as all the industrial riots in England.
Enough said,Just in case this email doesnt go through.
