Thank you for all your efforts. I didn't intend for anyone to go to so much trouble. I do have a lot of information about Oscar and the family tree you site got his info from me.
I don't know for sure that Oscar married in Hawaii. I have tried to find his wife through many channels but come up blank. I do have his obit that mentions his wifes name but no surname. That is where I found her. No mention anywhere after that. She was probably from some other state and went back home or remarried soon after his death.
Yes, he is buried at the national cemetery. I guess I will write and see if they have additional information. It doesn't seem likely they would have her last name though. It is worth a try.
He was stationed in Hawaii about the time he would have gotten married. He was single in Montana. So he married between 1910 and 1918. He enlisted in the service 7 times. Once he was discharged in Hawaii. That is why I thought I would look for a marriage there.
Dis: January 14, 1912 in Ft. Shafter, Hawaii
Perhaps he was married while in Montana but she lived elsewhere. It is all a mystery!
He was my grandmothers brother.
Thanks again.
